Unlike any other trucks on the streets today, The Burnt Truck, has not only established itself as a premier, gourmet food truck with its innovative twist on simple, comfort food but also as a pioneer on the design and delivery of the food truck business. It’s the first of its kind in Orange County to exclusively feature gourmet sliders: delicious, creative, and addictive sliders that will have you coming back again and again and again!
Chef Paul Cao, Phi Nguyen and partner Minh Pham have an intense passion for comfort foods through which they are able to add their own personality and interpretation. Their love of the culinary arts and creations are resonated across in their cooking techniques, their use of high quality, fresh ingredients and their dedication to preparing and creating every order daily.
Paul is classically trained in French cuisine but more often than not, enjoys imprinting his cultural roots as is often displayed in his use of Asian flavors and ingredients. He got his start as Chef de Cuisine at Marc Cohen’s Opah Restaurant in Irvine when it opened in 2004. He then moved on to become Sous Chef at Michael Mina’s Stonehill Tavern in Dana Point, CA for 2 years and was most recently cooking at Jason Niederkorn’s Café del Rey in Marina Del Rey, CA.
Chef Phi Nguyen shares a similar cooking lineage with Paul. They both attended the Art Institute of California and like Paul, he too was top of his class. Phi started his cooking career at the Loft at the Montage Hotel. He then made his way to Michael Mina’s Stonehill Tavern in Dana Point, before starting the Burnt Truck.
Paul, Phi, and Minh's passion for culinary cuisine is unquestionable as they seek to pioneer themselves on the forefront of the food truck revolution. The Burnt Truck will be serving classics like sloppy joes, fried chicken, beef dips, cheese steaks, and meatloaf while also incorporating some unique flavors and diverse cooking styles by serving Vietnamese pork, chicken katsu, carnitas, and fried cheese: all in their interpretation of today's slider. The Burnt Truck’s mission statement is to "bring distinctively upscale taste to the streets of Orange County without all the fuss and nonsense of a high-end restaurant".
By keeping things simple with a twist of innovation, and most importantly quality, The Burnt Truck provides a lingering taste of satisfaction that will remain on the tip of everyone's tongue!
